Introduction

Khustai National Park is located 120km from Ulaanbaatar city amongst the mountains that maintain their natural beauty, unharmed by human activities. Nowadays, it is best known as the sanctuary for Przewalski Wild Horses which are also known as ‘Takhi’ in Mongolian. These wild horses, native to Mongolia, went extinct by the year 1954. However, thanks to efforts spearheaded by the Dutch, these horses were reintroduced to their native habitat in the early 1990s. Nowadays, there are approximately 350 horses thriving within the safety of the National Park.
Mongol Nomadic camp is located 60km from the city and provides daily entertainment to its guests. The camp has daily shows that begin at 10:00 am and 14:00 pm. The show is focused on presenting the traditional nomadic lifestyle lived by the Mongolians in the span of XVIII-XX centuries. Visitors have a chance to enjoy the taste of traditional dairy products and milk vodka along with performance of traditional musical instruments.
